Instructions for January Virtual Learning
January 15, 2021
Dear TES Parents/Guardians:
I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to our students and staff for their outstanding efforts in preparation for our transition to virtual learning that will begin on Wednesday, January 20 through Friday, January 29th. It is our expectation to continue quality teaching and learning during this time. Thank you as well to parents and extended family members for your efforts to ensure students participate and complete assignments.
Listed below is important information regarding our instruction plan and other supports:
- TES uses the Schoology platform to present instruction. Students will log on, view video instruction from their teacher, and complete assignments. For our younger students, written instructions for parents have been provided for support.
- Teachers can communicate with individual students and their families by messaging in Schoology. Parents can also communicate with teachers via email or other communication tools already being used in the classroom such as Remind and Class Dojo. During the days students are not in the building, our teachers will be preparing and videoing lessons. Teachers will respond to communication as quickly as possible and certainly within 24 hours.
- Meals will be provided through our Child Nutrition Program from 11:00-1:00, January 19 - 22 and January 25 - 29. All students may participate in this program. Please drive through the front portico to pick up meals. If your student has a food allergy or other dietary concerns, please call the school cafeteria to make arrangements.
- HOTSPOT Internet Connection: If you do not have access to the internet, we have some hotspots available on a first come, first serve basis. These will be available for pick up at the school Tuesday, January 19 from 8:00 - 10:30 and 1:00 - 3:00. There is a limited amount of data available on these devices - they should not be used for video games, movies, etc. These devices should be used strictly for school work.
Thank you again for your continued support of our school. In this very different and challenging year, our students have been amazing! We will get through this together - TROJAN STRONG!
