CHHS News and Announcements
The Balfour representative will be on campus to meet with ALL seniors and give out information about ordering caps and gowns, announcements, and other senior items.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Charles Henderson High School’s Homecoming Week will be postponed until further notice. We understand the importance of tradition and welcoming back former students, faculty, and staff. We will reschedule when we can safely celebrate with all of our students and alumni.
Parents and Guardians,As a reminder, enrollment in the Troy City Virtual Academy is a semester-long commitment. Due to block scheduling and safety protocols, Charles Henderson High School is unable to accommodate requests to change from the virtual platform to a traditional platform at this time. The Troy City Virtual Academy for grades 9-12 is not the same as the Troy City Remote Learning Option available to students in grades K-8. Athletic Event Protocol
The Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) and the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) recommend that spectators be allowed to attend athletic events at a reduced facility capacity while abiding by the social distancing guidelines.
Under the state’s current Safer at Home public health order “Players, coaches, officials, and spectators may not congregate within 6 feet of a person from another household except to the extent necessary, and only to the extent necessary, for players, coaches, and officials to directly participate in the athletic activity.”
Home Game Rules & Regulations
- Masks are required
- Metal detector and temperature screenings are required before entering the stadium, all purses are subject to search
- No backpacks or large bags will be allowed in the stadium
- All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult
- Spectators must remain seated and with their household members unless using the restroom or going to the concession stand
- Social distancing will be strictly enforced
- Spectators may not congregate within 6 feet of a person from another household
Failure to comply with these rules and regulations will result in removal from the event without a refund.
Tickets will only be sold online using the GoFan app. There will be NO tickets sold at the gate.
We will be limiting our stadium to 1350 tickets per side. There will be no exceptions or late additions; so if you’re planning to attend, purchase now.
You have 2 ways to purchase tickets:
1) (Easiest) Download the GoFan app on your phone, search for Charles Henderson High School, and purchase tickets. Be sure to choose the games you plan to attend.
2) The 2nd option is to go to www.gofan.co (not www.gofan.com). Search “Charles Henderson High” and all of our games will be there for you to purchase. Be sure to pick “home” for the games in Troy and “visitor” for the away games. After purchasing, you will receive a clickable ticket. When you arrive, you’ll be asked at the gate to press the “redeem” button on your ticket. ***Be very careful not to press the “redeem” button until you arrive at the gate and someone tells you to do so.*** If it is showing that it has already been redeemed, they won’t let you in. Once you’re in the stadium, you won’t be allowed to leave and re-enter for any reason.
Make sure you purchase a “Charles Henderson High School Ticket” and not a ticket for the opposing team. This will ensure that you are on the Charles Henderson side of the stadium.
All spectators and game participants must exit the stadium immediately after the conclusion of the contest. There will be no spectators allowed on the field before or after the game.
We are very excited to begin the regular season and would like everyone to get out and enjoy our games, but we want to make sure we finish the football season, so our rules and regulations will be strictly enforced.

All seniors were asked to respond to a senior survey. One of the questions on the survey asked for the name of the university, trade school, etc. where the senior's final transcript was to be sent. Many seniors have not yet responded with that information. Seniors, please provide Mrs. Tate with that information. If you don't have access to the survey, you may email Mrs. Tate at firstname.lastname@example.org with the information. Please make sure your email contains your name and the name of the institution where you want your transcript sent.
Information on Coronavirus Disease
TCS Families, Faculty, and Staff,
We want to let you know about our efforts to monitor coronavirus disease 2019, also known as COVID-19. The 2019 novel (or new) coronavirus causes a potentially severe respiratory illness. It was recently identified in China and is now being detected worldwide. Currently, there are no known cases in Alabama. We are coordinating with the Alabama Department of Public Health,
local healthcare authorities, and the State Department of Education to be prepared with the most up-to-date information and guidance involving the virus.
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) has guidelines in place for anyone who has traveled internationally to certain affected geographic areas. Find more resources about 2019 coronavirus through the Alabama Department of Public Health and Centers for Disease Control. The CDC also provides specific information for travelers. This information includes a list of areas with the sustained transmission of the virus and/or travel restrictions to the United States.
According to CDC guidance, those returning from China or areas with active community transmission of 2019 coronavirus will have at least some restrictions on their interactions for 14 days after leaving the affected areas. According to ADPH, any students or staff in this group must remain out of school for the duration of this period. On March 5, the Troy City Schools
Board of Education authorized the Interim Superintendent to follow all guidelines and exercise guidance from ADPH regarding the 2019 coronavirus. This includes any amendments to the guidance moving forward. Parents/guardians, faculty, and staff should notify your school’s principal of any upcoming out-of-country travel plans.
In our schools, everyday health practices remain important. We encourage
our students and staff to:
- stay home when sick and until you are fever-free for at least 24 hours after
the last administration of fever-reducing medicine.
- practice frequent hand washing for at least 20 seconds at a time.
- cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or sleeve.
- avoid touching your face, mouth, nose, and eyes.
- avoid being around those who are sick.
Although it will not prevent coronavirus, a flu shot is still recommended for those who have not had one this flu season. Ample cleaning supplies are in our schools and our custodians disinfect high-contact surfaces. Plans are currently being finalized for a meeting in the coming days, among local healthcare and education leaders, to discuss monitoring and prevention of 2019 novel coronavirus.
Families can stay up to date on 2019 novel coronavirus and recommended actions through the Centers for Disease Control and Alabama Department of Public Health. If new information results in how our schools respond to 2019 novel coronavirus, TCS will communicate this information to you.
- stay home when sick and until you are fever-free for at least 24 hours after
