TCS Remote Learning Plan
Troy City School’s Remote Learning Plan
Troy City Remote Learning offers full-time online learning opportunities for students in grades K through 8 whereas Troy City Virtual Academy offers full-time online learning opportunities for students in grades 9 through 12!
Starting in the 2020-2021 school year, we are expanding our virtual options to accommodate students who may not be ready to return to face-to-face instruction due to coronavirus concerns and to continue to serve students of all ages who have found online learning to be a good fit during the pandemic.
Unlike other online education options, Troy City Remote Learning allows students to be taught by a teacher from their own community, facilitates a smooth transition back to traditional schooling in TCS, and allows graduates to still earn a diploma from their local high school. Both Troy City Remote Learning and Troy City Virtual Academy’s curricula align to the Alabama Course of Study Standards. Students will be supported with teachers, devices, and software provided by TCS.
To address enrollment needs for virtual learning and learning from home, Troy City School District has partnered with the Alabama Department of Education and will be utilizing SchoolsPLP to provide course content via the Schoology LMS in addition to providing course content via Google Classroom, Edmentum, and ACCESS to offer virtual learning opportunities for students in K-12th grades.
